How to Become a Production-Ready AI Engineer
It's not just building AI systems. It's using AI to build anything: traditional workflows, data pipelines, software, and websites, on reliable, repeatable infrastructure that covers security, data, ops, and compliance.
You produce a real project for your resume and portfolio.

What you'll build
Ship real work on infrastructure that holds up
Leave with the judgment and patterns to stand up production-ready systems, not one-off demos.
Reliable AI-backed workflows
Replace fragile manual processes with repeatable automations you can monitor and hand off.
Data pipelines and software
Use AI to move faster on pipelines, services, and product surfaces without skipping security or ops.
Sites and internal tools
Ship websites and tools on the same disciplined stack: environments, secrets, logging, and rollback.
The 6 weeks
Week 1 · Tue Feb 2
The Infrastructure
DRAFT: Lay down the foundation every production system needs: environments, secrets, networking, and the defaults that keep AI-assisted builds from becoming fragile one-offs.
Week 2 · Tue Feb 9
The System
DRAFT: Design the system shape before the prompts. How services talk, where state lives, and how you use AI to build traditional software and workflows on that spine.
Week 3 · Tue Feb 16
The Data and Security
DRAFT: Treat data and security as first-class. Access control, retention, redaction, and the patterns that keep customer data safe when AI is in the loop.
Week 4 · Tue Feb 23
The Ops
DRAFT: Run what you ship. Logging, alerts, deploys, rollback, and the ops loop that makes AI-built systems operable on a Tuesday night, not only in a demo.
Week 5 · Tue Mar 2
The Compliance
DRAFT: Local AI, regulations, and practical compliance. When to keep models and data on your metal, and how to document controls buyers and auditors actually ask for.
Week 6 · Tue Mar 9
The End Goal
DRAFT: Put it together. A production-ready path from idea to running system, with a clear bar for "done" and a backlog you can keep shipping after the cohort.
